FOR ALABAMA LAWYERS – AT LEAST 6 HOURS OF LIVE MCLE IS REQUIRED
All Alabama lawyers must have 12 Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) hours, including 1 ethics hour, per year. The Alabama State Bar gives credit for up to 6 hours of attending recorded, on-demand webinars. The remaining 6 hours must be earned from attending “live” MCLE. AIM always includes Q & A in its live webinars to meet the ASB’s criteria for “live” CLE. To get “live” CLE credit, you must attend the “live” webinars.
FOR TENNESSEE LAWYERS – ANY MCLE VARIATION OF 15 HOURS IS ACCEPTED (LIVE, ONLINE OR DISTANCE LEARNING)
The Tennessee Bar requires you to earn 15 MCLE hours, including 3 hours of ethics and professionalism. Tennessee attorneys may earn all CLE hours in person, online or via other distance learning methods.
If you need a certificate of webinar attendance to provide to the bar of another state, please email tammy@attorneysinsurancemutual.com, and we will gladly provide it to you.

Unlike other appeals, appeals from or involving decisions of administrative agencies involve unique procedures and substantive standards, the proper understanding of which is often a major advantage. Of particular interest is the quickly-changing doctrine of deference to administrative agency decisions, most recently addressed by the United States Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision. This seminar will examine some ways to be effective in such appeals, and the evolving world of administrative deference – including how various states have recently addressed (and at times eliminated) their own deference doctrines.

The presentation will cover a lawyer’s ethical obligations related to the knowledge and use of artificial intelligence in the practice of law. There will be a discussion of recent court orders and rulings related to artificial intelligence, including best practices to comply with the court orders. The presentation will also discuss the new advertising rule changes that go into effect in Alabama on January 1, 2026. Even if a lawyer does not “advertise” in the traditional sense, lawyers should know the new rules since they also govern any use of social media platforms and firm websites. There will also be a discussion about how Alabama’s rule changes are different than other jurisdictions.

In the cybersecurity field, there are two types of hackers: black hats that break into systems, steal information, manipulate data and compromise security. White hats are "ethical hackers." They're often employed by the government and big corporations to protect data from black hats. They are penetration testers.

Join Sharon for a peek inside the spy vs spy world of protecting client and firm data - and the ethical ground that lawyers must defend while all of this is playing out.

On-Demand Webinars
AIM webinars are FREE to AIM insureds and only $25 for non-insureds, including on-demand viewing.

Please Note: Pausing on-demand webinars results in ZERO credit. The only on-demand webinars that will be available for CLE credit are the ones listed below.
AIM’s REPORTING METHOD
AIM’s website will track the number of minutes you watch one of our live or on-demand webinars. Our proprietary tracking system requires almost nothing on your part except watching the webinar and completing the survey. For on-demand webinars, you will enter the exit code at the end. If our system shows that you did not watch the entire webinar, we cannot and will not report to the ASB that you attended. No exceptions.
AIM immediately receives an attendance report after each live webinar and submits bar numbers of each attending lawyer to the Alabama and Tennessee bars directly through the state’s website portals. We do this as a courtesy to you and incur any charges on your behalf.
Attendance reports for on-demand webinars are received by AIM weekly, and we report to the state bars weekly.
Please be patient. It is not necessary to call AIM to inquire about the status of your submitted MCLE hours. The state bar websites will update once they have completed processing all their MCLE submissions. Providers have 30 days to report attendance to bar associations. Therefore, the bars wait until the reporting period is over to begin making compliance assessments on attorneys who do not have all hours reported. Trust the process, and please keep track of your hours.
According to the Alabama State Bar’s MCLE Commission, if you receive a notice of non-compliance around the end of January or the beginning of February, you have until February 15 to submit a corrected transcript indicating compliance or submit a deficiency plan with the $100 late compliance fee.
