AIM is very proud of two insureds that were recognized recently by the Alabama State Bar.
H. Jerome Thompson is the 2025 recipient of the Alabama State Bar’s Commissioners Award. The award is given to recognize individuals who have had a long-standing commitment to the improvement of the administration of justice in Alabama. Jerome is a Moulton practitioner focusing on real estate and probate law, mediator, and long-serving community leader. Jerome is President of the Lawrence County Bar Association, a member of the ASB Board of Bar Commissioners, and past International Director of Lions Clubs International. Through a multi-organization partnership, he helped launch and fund the Lions Quest program, supporting adjudicated youth—now boasting strong completion rates and dramatically reduced recidivism. He also serves in a leadership role supporting the Bar’s Harvesting Hope rural access initiative.
Charles L. Denaburg is the 2025 recipient of the Alabama State Bar’s Mediator Pro Bono Award. The award is given to recognize the outstanding pro bono efforts of mediators in the state. The award criteria includes the total number of pro bono hours or complexity of cases handled, the impact of the pro bono work and benefit for the poor, particular expertise provided, or the particular need satisfied, and proven commitment to the delivery of quality legal services to the poor and to providing equal access to legal services. Charles is a veteran Birmingham attorney whose decades-long practice evolved into a respected mediation and arbitration career. Admitted to practice before state and federal courts, the Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court, Charles remains active in professional mediation organizations and continues to serve his community and profession.
