Appellate Rule Amendments Effective Immediately

The Alabama Supreme Court has amended Rule 53(c) and Rule 54(c) of the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure, which became effective March 31, 2026. The amendments address the publication of appellate decisions, clarifying that “No Opinion” cases will continue to be included in tables of decisions without published opinions, while allowing concurring or dissenting special writings in those cases to be published.
